Kairi Kivinuk is an Estonian born artist who currently lives in London.
Arts and crafts have been her interest from a young age. Growing up on a country side and surrounded by nature has given an inspiration to her work.
She moved to London in 2008 to study interior design at London Metropolitan University. After graduating with Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design she started her career working with recognisable projects and gained wide experience in interior design.
Involvement in design and creativity helped her to re connect to her artistic side that she has been developing for the past several years to pursue her career in the art world. Kairi blends her artistic skills with her interior design experience, which is a perfect combination bringing out the best of her two passions.
With her artistic approach and curiosity, she enjoys experimenting new materials and techniques challenging herself.
Her greatest inspiration is nature that she loves and takes abstract approach of elements like flowers and leather when creating her work. She also gets inspiration from her inner world like emotion and energies connecting with her artwork. Often ideas appear from everyday life like fashion, social media and different cultures.
She loves working with colour in several mediums, two or three dimensions or in paint to enhance surrounding of spaces in which people live and work. Her favourite materials to work with are; leather, resin, flowers, watercolours, acrylic paint and “Khadi” paper.
This has led to versatility with mediums in order to express a wide range of ideas, emotions, thoughts and experiences in her abstract art work.
Kairi finds it exciting to engage with people’s emotion and imagination through her abstract work.
